After Censor Board Hurdles, ‘Navya Chakra’ Set For June 26 Release

Mumbai: After months of uncertainty and multiple release postponements, filmmaker Amit Dixit’s much-awaited psychological mystery thriller is finally ready to reach audiences under its new title, Navya Chakra. The film, which was previously titled Navagunjara and later Navya Gunjara, faced significant challenges during the certification process after objections were raised over the concept which was related to the title of the film.

According to the makers, the film’s release was delayed repeatedly due to issues related to the film’s concept, which was directly involved with the title. The project was initially scheduled to release on May 15, 2026, and was later pushed to May 29, 2026. However, the film could not secure its censor certification as objections regarding the title continued to persist.

Sources associated with the production reveal that the makers approached the authorities multiple times seeking approval, but the proposed titles were reportedly not cleared. Following extensive discussions and compliance with the required guidelines, the team eventually received approval to release the film under the new title, Navya Chakra.

With the certification process now complete, the makers have officially announced June 26, 2026, as the film’s theatrical release date.

Directed and produced by Amit Dixit, Navya Chakra is written by Rohit S. Yadav, who has also handled the story, screenplay, and dialogues. The film is backed by First Film Studios LLP in association with Low Agers Production and Cine Arts. The project is produced by Amit Dixit, Ankita Goyal, and Ayush Jain, with Ajit Padwalkar serving as co-producer.

The film features an ensemble cast including Jitendraa Bohara,Tushar Kawale, Jessica Yadav, Pratiksha Singh, Kshitij Pawar, Sandhya R. Gemawat, Sandeep Omkar and Kailash Chaudhary. The film is presented as a Shubhro B musical, while Jai Nandan has handled cinematography. Abhishek Dubey serves as the associate producer.

The recently unveiled first poster carries the intriguing line, “Welcome to the world of PSYCON… we live in a world shared with them,” hinting at a mysterious narrative that explores unseen dimensions and psychological intrigue. While the makers continue to keep major plot details under wraps, the film’s promotional material has generated curiosity among audiences eager to discover the world of Navya Chakra.

Having overcome certification hurdles and title-related setbacks, the makers are now looking forward to finally bringing their ambitious vision to the big screen on June 26.
